Who We Are
YELLOW JACKETS NORTH
The program is directed by experienced and committed leaders who have built the top program in New York State and the number #1 program in the country, as ranked by US Club Lacrosse. Since its formation in 1999, YJN has consistently been New York’s leading program, receiving full support from the Long Island Yellow Jacket owners and directors. Carol Rainson-Rose, with a record of 430-109-4 and the most wins in New York State history, actively helps YJN achieve the same success as her Long Island Yellow Jackets. Tracy Weiner, head coach of Farmingdale and YJN’s Recruiting Director, has strong relationships with coaches from Division 1, 2, and 3 colleges, enhancing YJN’s recruitment potential.
YJN’s coaching staff, led by Hall of Fame coach Ellen Mager from Yorktown High School, is one of the most respected in the area and the top reason to consider joining YJN. We have 18 coaches on staff who bring head coaching experience from either high school or college programs. Each team has two coaches, with at least one adult coach and no college players serve as head coaches. Families are encouraged to evaluate coaching staff before selecting a program, and our staff can be reviewed on the YJN website under the "COACHES" tab. Coaches are carefully selected based on their ability to explain and break down the game, and they view themselves as educators who stay current on best practices through clinics, US Lacrosse, and shadowing high-level coaches.
YJN competes against top teams nationwide, including Skywalkers, M&D, Mass Elite, Monsters, TLC, Maryland United, and Steps. Due to our strong reputation, YJN is never blocked from top club tournaments, providing players tremendous exposure at summer and fall events to maximize recruitment opportunities. With over 700 players placed in Division 1, 2, and 3 programs by our Recruiting Director, YJN maintains strong connections with college coaches at all levels.
